She flinches to the sound of her son Killing himself softly, his dope is Lurin’ him down that hill in slow motion Try to be open, his habit is growing She already knows it, overdosing Borrowed time, his eyes rolling Just like The Omen She begs she could just shake his silver chords Until they strum golden He never died before, But what happened yesterday... What happened yesterday? Zombie waltz into Cicero's traffic flow, Placated, sedated, two bumps in the nose Poppy-sized lump in the throat, Like a movie, he rolls into his credits, Scenic and spooky, an ending. Lights fade to black, around him Synaptic buzz stops sending. Closing time inside his doors He already knows, but He never died before…
