Zebra
Everything is always a constant battle Always trying to feel normal Always trying to be there for others Always hiding my issues Always feeling lost Forgetting i even existed Feeling like life is an ad that you can't skip Every bruise Every scratch Every scar Reminds me that im a zebra Zebras are not always a bad thigs Zebras stand for the medical mysteries like me The mysteries who carry a thousand pounds just to survive We live everyday either hooked - up to feeds most of the day Or feeling like a guinea pig trying medication after medication You don't know what these zebras are going through until We break We cry We get mad because We want to live the life we were given To feel normal To feel free To feel confident in our bodies So as i sit here and write this poem I am reminded of my fight The constant gaslighting The mental break downs The anxiety The trama So as i stand with the other zebras I want you to know that you are not alone.
