Youth and Life
My daughter departed, leaving a seed sown, In my old age, a young child I own. Sick and seeking a guardian's grip, Who will guide her on life's long trip? With growth comes wisdom, questions arise, She sees I'm not her mother, in her wise eyes. How to tell a tale of a life gone astray, In a gentle, loving, yet truthful way? She deserves the answers, not the pain, Dear Lord, help me find words like rain. Words that wash, but do not wound, For this young spirit, I am trying my best to groom.
