you weren't there

You weren’t there when I needed you, you stayed away like I was a crumbling building that threatened to fall and trap you under it. But I was trapped, I was trapped and needed help digging my way out but you left me for dead, for the bears to paw at, for the birds to rip at, for the wolfs to chew from. I was brought to my knees by everyone around me forced to kneel until my legs cramped, burned, bled. you fled refusing to help me stand, to bandage my legs to help me walk again, I was broken and beaten and alone. Until I wasn’t, I dug myself out of that crumbling building, I fought off the bears and birds and wolfs, I helped myself because you weren’t there.
