You were my friend 🧡
You were my friend— More like a sister from another mother. I cherished you, Gave you all I had— My memories, my moments, my everything. I poured myself into us, But even that wasn’t enough To stop what came next. You ask me to be friends again. How many times did you betray me? I forgave. I trusted you Even when the whispers warned me not to. I went out of my way— Because we were friends. Now I look in the mirror, And I see a stranger. A darker version of me That I never wished to be. Hidden. Hurt. People call it depression, But to me, it’s just A refusal to trust Ever again. My friendships now Are ink and paper. My words are my only comforter. My poems, my healer. I tell them everything— And they don’t judge. They don’t leave. They don’t betray. Even when I write in rage, They hold my pain, And lift me. To you—my old friend, I’m sorry. But I won't let you hurt me twice. Thank you... For the lesson.
