You Think Trees Think?
A tree Drops a seed Its roots hold And grow Stunted though For, it grows Inside the shadows Until its limbs reach out To see what the light is all about This light to its eyes, it beckons To give direct light, not indirect, sloppy seconds Anyway, its eyes will only see The rays it lets in naturally And from there not just its trunk grows But its branches reach out to those Who are also growing in the shadows They would bend, even break, if they could To let the nurturing light shine Where a seedling, in shadow once stood
