Yah Increase My Faith
"Oh Yah, my Rock, my Redeemer, my soul's deepest desire Increase my faith, like a river, that flows, and never retires I yearn to be more deeply rooted, in the rich soil of your love To know you more, to understand, the mysteries, sent from above But oftentimes, I falter, like a leaf, that's torn, from its branch Problems assail me, like a tempest, that rages, and refuses to wane In the sanctuary, I long to shout, 'Hallelujah!' with abandon, and glee But my stomach aches, with hunger's pangs, and my body's wracked, with pain's dark decree My soul, my heart, my spirit, yearn to soar, on eagle's wings But my physical form, is weak, and frail, like a vessel, that's cracked, and springs Even when I'm moved, to sing your praises, my voice, is hoarse, and barely audible, like a whispered secret, in a crowded space My bones, are broken, like a reed, that's bruised, and battered, by life's turbulent, and relentless pace When I'm on my knees, in supplication, and prayer That's when the doubts, and fears, and worries, converge, like a maelstrom, that's swirling, and sucking me under, with its deadly, and merciless undertow Tears fall, like autumn's rain, and dreams disappear, like mist, that's burned away.
