WRONG PERSON, RIGHT LESSON.
I believe you loved me, In the way you could without loving yourself. I believe you tried to express your love, But it showed up flawed Everytime. I believe you wanted to give me the love I deserved, But you didn't know how to show up for yourself first. I believe you loved me, But you could not make it healthy. I believe you supported me, But you could not see my potential Because you felt you didn't possess any. I believe you wanted to be good to me, But you spent too much time with people who fill you up with poison, You only kept yourself from goodness. I believe you could have been so much more, But you let your past trap you, Until you became every bad thing that happened to you. I believe you wanted the best to come of us, But you didn't believe it for yourself, So wrecking us was a collateral damage. I believe you never wanted to intentionally hurt me, You were a good person - I saw who you were at your core, But who you weren't kept you up at night. If only you could have loved yourself first, Maybe we could have been, Or maybe this is what we were destined to be. I loved to my core, and you tried to find love within.
