Wounded Heart
My heart once was not wounded It was a vault of love and untouched by the world But something happened that it couldn't withstand And now it must bear the lasting hurt The pain of heartache, the pain of betrayal Those feelings I can't help relate My heart is wounded, bleeding pain But still I must stand up and take the weight I can only hope that one day I'll find A heart that's true and strong That can mend what's broken inside Where peace and love can still belong Until then I struggle with a broken heart That can't feel the joy it once knew But I won't give up, no I won't fade away My wounded heart will beat strong and true
