Would They Notice?
If I just slipped into the night, Would anyone turn on the light? Would texts stay read, would phones stay still, Would silence echo louder still? I walk this world, unseen, unheard, A fading face, a slurred-out word. I laugh on cue, I fake the part, While rot runs riot through my heart. They say they care, but only when My pulse becomes a headline then. They'd post a quote, they'd cry online, But never saw the warning sign. I'm tired of screaming into space, Of hoping someone sees my face. Of stitching smiles, of biting pain, Of dancing softly in the rain. What if I vanished, soft and slow? Would flowers bloom where I let go? Or would they step around the stain, And never think of me again? So here I am, and here I bleed, Not for attention—just to be freed. Not for a crowd, not for a show, Just ‘cause I’m tired, and want to go.
