Worth the Risk
In the quiet moments, I dream, Of being the spark in someone's eye, The whisper of hope against the storm, The reason they defy the sky. Not because the path is smooth, Or the road ahead is clear, But because they see a fire in me, A light that burns sincere. To be the exception, the chosen one, Not for the ease, but for the fight, For someone to stand against the tide, And say, "This is my love, my right." When the world turns cold and dark, And whispers doubts in every ear, I wish for someone brave enough, To hold me close and keep me near. Not for the promise of an easy ride, But for the value they see inside, That somewhere, someone sees my worth, And decides, with me, to abide. In the face of all that’s hard and gray, To choose me, come what may, For in their eyes, I am the prize, Worth every risk, every day.
