Worn Souls and Heavy Hearts
Beneath dark skies, I find my weary soul, Where tired limbs and mind have taken toll. A heavy weight upon my shoulders rests, Exhaustion's cloak, my constant, silent guest. The day, a marathon of endless trials, My spirit wanes, as fatigue compiles. Each step, a burden, in this world I bear, With leaden heart and eyes that blankly stare. The hours crawl by, an endless, somber gray, As weariness prolongs its gloomy stay. My thoughts adrift, like leaves in autumn's breeze, I long for rest, for sweet and dream-filled ease. In solitude, I seek a quiet space, To find a fleeting moment's warm embrace. To gather strength, to mend what's worn and frayed, Before the dawn of yet another day. But in this twilight realm, I'm not alone, For countless souls, like mine, have overthrown By life's demands, by battles fought and won, We rest together 'til the morning sun. Though weariness may claim our weakened frame, We'll rise again, to face life's endless game. For deep within, a flicker of hope remains, That strength will grow from these exhausted chains.
