Words unspoken
In our little world, there's this girl, I won't mention her name, She thinks she's a star, that she's won some sort of game. She's confident, you see, thinks she's the best around, But sometimes her words feel like they're pushing me to the ground. She talks about her looks, like they're a precious gem, While I quietly wonder if I'll ever measure up to them. She says I struggle in history and biology class, But in math, I hold my own, it's where I tend to pass. "Short," she'll say with a laugh, not knowing it's unkind, As if our heights determine the worth that we might find. Our friendship is a treasure, a bond that's tried and true, But there are times when her words make me feel a bit blue. I don't think she realizes just how much it can hurt, The weight of her words, like a stinging like heavy spurt. Still, I'll hold on to our friendship, with patience in my heart, Hoping one day she'll understand, and her words will take a gentler part.
