Words That Hurt
I thought I found a friend in you, A bond I believed would stay true. We shared our thoughts, our hopes, our fears, But now all that's left are tears. Your words, once kind, have turned to stone, A harshness that I’ve never known. Aggression dripped from every line, Each word you wrote cut deep, malign. A friendship lost in hateful speech, You turned away just out of reach. Your words, they hurt, they bruised my soul, And left me lost, no longer whole. I cannot stand the pain you bring, Your words, they make my heart take wing. From friend to foe, you crossed that line, And now I know your love was never mine.
