The seven years we spent together I associated those years with heaven Now I associate it with a jungle It was messy but beautiful. Peaceful as can be But it was full of snakes Maybe I just ignored the serpents I didn't want to believe The things you told me came from The tongue of a snake. I wanted to believe That you spoke with the tongue Of the dog, loyal and honest I would never lie to you Not like you did me I called you my best friend We spent years together Talking about potential crushes And making secret codes And handshakes I wish we could still be kids Playful and funny But most importantly Together
