Words Fail

You came to me saying "I love you" you looked at me like you were waiting for me to respond back to you saying "I love you too" I've never felt anything like this before I don't know what to say or how to act I have closed my heart and shut the door I want to tell you something back but I'm scared I keep hoping you understand me I am emotionally unprepared I keep on trying but I feel like I should give up I know I'll just start crying but words fail I see your eyes looking into mine your face starts to turn pale again I will say words fail I feel sorry for the delay but I won't be saying "I love you" back today
