Winter Cabin Nights
The pipe is lit, the fires on, all is calm, and all is still. The blue haze envelopes all around, Whisping here, and swirling there. Making shapes just of the ground, bringing cheer to all in here. Cold outside, but warm in here, nothing to do, with no frown to be seen. It's really quite a mystery, that even though this nights so mean, that on this night so blustery, that I am content with pipe and all. With radio, book, prayer and thought, or even clear mind. It's peace that's sought. The candle gently flickering, there's no sound or bickering. Upon this night we rest, we talk, as we put out the ash upon this cork. To light another, good night and farewell, out into the damp cool air. Already missing that old armchair, it's time to go, but better than before. Rested well, and ready for sleep. Tomorrow night shall soon be here, and I'll be returned don't you fear.
