why her, and not me
The heart has reasons of its own, A mystery, a hidden zone. Why choose her, and not me? A question asked on bended knee. Perhaps her smile is brighter, Her laughter, a joyful light. Maybe her eyes hold a deeper hue, A love that shines through and through. Or maybe it's a feeling deep, A connection that can't be kept. A spark ignited, a flame that burns, A love that forever turns. There is no easy answer, No rhyme or reason to the dancer. The heart chooses its own way, And sometimes we just have to say, "I understand, though it may hurt, True love is a precious art. I'll find my own way, my own true light, And cherish the memories, day and night."
