Why does it feel like? Part 1
Look at the grass The grass is still green Look at the trees And see how they lean Look at the mountains As old as time But still strong Like time rewind Maybe time did rewind And we're still the old us The ones who laughed And were never quite the fuss Why does it feel cold And the air stiff When you beg me to give it up And you make me question "what if" Like you never really wanted to And you're only in it for the money Or maybe just as an excuse For you to call someone "honey" Why does it feel like You're gonna wake up and laugh And say I've given you all my love When you could barely manage to give half But time never really stopped It just kept going Ticking and ticking Laughing at me while it's glowing Like all the pretty girls you talked to So answer me this if you think you're so brave If they were just your friends How many girlfriends did you have saved I saw quite a few Emily and Jade were their names So I was over you And your little mind games But I couldn't You seemed to draw me in With the lust-filled words And eyes like sin The way you spoke The venom in your words But I saw their names I wasn't settling for thirds
