Why Do I Lie?
Why do I lie? May it be white or damned Fills my tongue despite my tries And slowly creeps into the back of my mind Selfishness could be the reason why Clouding my rationality and thoughts But pride stands higher than the sky Turning words into half-baked truths Embarrassment, humiliation, shame Even self-centeredness comes into play They become emotions I relentlessly blame When things get out of hand and I shy away Still, why did I lie? Truth prevails against all hoax But I'm unable to swallow the pretense I've denied It wraps me in chains and leaves me to choke ©Remy
