Why Didn't We Listen

Why didn't we listen? When they told us to stay young. When the opposite gender had cooties, When kissing was gross, When we used the parachute in PE, When we played 'house', When we had unlimited energy, When we didn't have social media, When we had innocence, When we wanted to growm up, When we had recess, When we weren't insecure, When we had clip behavior charts, When homework was easy, When we performed shows for our parents. Why didn't we listen when they told us not to grow up?
