Why can't I be me?
Why can't I be me? Why can't I breathe? Save me mommy, save me. But my mother can't save me here. She can't stop all of the tears, She can't chase away all my fears. So I lay in bed, My heart filled with dread. Tomorrow comes like a wave. My mother comes in and wakes me up,so kind. I have to get up,I have to be brave. I go in to school,Eyes are on me. I feel my throat tightening up. Keep walking..Keep walking. I sit down,Looking over at my table mate with a silent plead. That boy is already yelling at me again,Criticizing me. I want to go home, but I can't. I'll continue with my silent rant. The school day goes by,More hate, more profanity. I get in the car and sob. I can't deal with this insanity. I go home and everything went black, Finally..Free from their attack. But then I realize it's just a dream. Why can't I be me?
