Why again
I don’t understand them. What are these people how do they smile so gently while hiding knives behind their words? They say they love me, say my name like it means something, but their hands are only open when they need something to take. Tell me what did I do wrong? Was it who I am, or what I don’t have, or the way I stayed when leaving would’ve been easier? They were kind. God, they were kind. That’s what hurts the most. Because kindness that is fake cuts deeper than hatred ever could. They used my heart like a shelter, rested in my warmth, then walked away as if I was nothing but a stop along the road. And when I’m left bleeding with questions, they curse me, blame me, turn my pain into my fault. I search for peace but this world keeps teaching me that sincerity is rare and goodness is often punished. What is wrong with them? What is wrong with this world that honesty feels like a weakness and loving deeply means being left empty?
