White Lie
As the color left from my face And a smile appeared on yours I realized you weren’t who I thought But merely the monster under my bed I had nightmares because of you Troubling thoughts of this day The pain and anxiety it would cause The hurt and betrayal that’d arised You are not that innocent soul The one you show off at the beginning Because with time Your true colors show Not yellow or pink or blue Not green or red or orange You are white A thick, compact, white lie.
