Whispers to Heaven
Each night I kneel, my hands clasp tight, A prayer escapes into the night. Tears like rivers softly flow, Carrying love you’ll never know. I call your name, though you can’t hear, Through silent echoes, lost yet near. The sky stands still, the stars don’t speak, But still, my heart is worn and weak. Oh God, I weep, I ache, I plead, For just one touch, for one small need. To see him once, to feel him near, To chase away this endless fear. But dawn arrives, and dreams depart, Leaving shadows in my heart. Yet still, I pray, yet still, I weep, For love once lost is love I keep.
