WHISPERS OF WHAT ONCE WAS
In the quiet shadows of my mind, Your memory lingers, unkind, A ghost of laughter, a distant tear, Reminding me that you're not near. We built dreams on sands so fragile, Held hopes that now feel so brittle, Your absence whispers through the night, A silent ache, a faded light. Once I had you, whole and true, Now all I have are echoes of you, A love that burned so bright and fast, Now just a shadow of the past. I long to hold what’s lost in time, To feel once more that love divine, But all that’s left are broken dreams— A yearning lost in endless streams. So here I stand with open wounds, Haunted by the silent tunes, Of love that couldn’t stay, A heart that’s slowly drifting away.
