Whispers of the Mind
whispers I hate to keep secret In the quiet of my mind, shadows crawl, Lurking whispers that never seem to fall, They call me mad, a fool, nothing more, Yet they cannot see the battles I bore. Each thought, a tempest, tearing me apart, A storm that rages, deep within my heart, They label me dumb, quick to condemn, But never once do they try to understand them. These scars I carry, etched deep in my soul, Each one a story, a piece of the whole, Yet they laugh, they jeer, with eyes so blind, To the agony that festers in my mind. They don’t see the chains that bind me tight, The sleepless nights, the endless fight, They don’t know the pain that claws inside, The part of me I’m forced to hide. So call me mad, say I’ve lost my way, But know there’s more than words can say, For in this chaos, I still stand tall, A broken soul, but I won’t fall. Let them judge, let them claim their truth, But they can’t erase the fire of my youth, I am more than the labels they give, In this madness, I still live.
