Whispers of the Dark
Wailing in tears, The pain of shame, Men will comfort you, But the pain still sleeps deep, Deep down in my heart, I can't forget, All the dreams I had in store, The stars I wished to touch, The mountains I wished to climb, All seems to fade as I get closer, The expectations, that once seemed as though a small hill, Now feels like a mountain I can never climb, Should I give up? I ask myself, But a whisper within me says, Rise again, don’t lose yourself. Though the past may haunt my steps, The future still calls my name. Pain may linger, but so does strength, Shame may burn, but hope burns brighter. The stars are distant, yet they shine, Guiding me through the darkest night. Should I give up? I ask again, But deep inside, the answer’s clear— Not today, not ever.
