Whispers of Forgiveness
But tell me, how can you hurt someone so bad, Then whisper “I love you” as if nothing’s sad? As if love could mend what’s shattered and torn, As if trust could bloom again, fresh as the dawn. They say love is a balm, a gentle embrace, Yet how cruel is the hand that strikes with such grace? Can a heart bear the weight of such bitter divide, Or do we dance in despair, where the shadows reside? Each wound tells a story, a tale of our plight, Of vulnerability traded for sorrowful nights. Yet in the silence that follows, we reach out for light, Hoping love’s softest whispers can make it all right. Is it love that binds us, or something more grim? A cycle of hurt where the chances grow slim? Forgiveness, a mask that we wear with a sigh, While the heart, bruised yet willing, still longs to fly high. How can we hold love with grief in our chest, Walking tightropes of doubt, never finding our rest? Is it brave to forgive, or simply naive? An act of pure faith in a world that deceives? Perhaps love is both curse and the sweetest of gifts, A flame that can warm while it burns through the rifts. A reminder we’re flawed, that we stumble and fall, Yet we still seek the light, despite shadows that call.
