whispers from the dark
I know I'm too old to believe in monsters in the closet, But after you've lived in one for 14 years, You hear whispers in the dark. They say "you're not loved" "you're not really you" But after living with those monsters, You learn their weaknesses. It's as simple as saying "I am me. I am beautiful." So, the next time you hear those whispers Remember their weaknesses. Remember who you are. And know, I love you. Even though I'm simply a stranger I want you to know I love you. And if there is no more light, And all you hear are the whispers, Look for light in my poems. You may find a cabin to rest the night in. To weather the storm. Or possibly a home. And if it's none of these, I hope you find one or maybe many.
