whispered of tormented soul
I see them— Shadows creeping in the corners of my mind, Distorted faces in the walls, Their mouths sewn shut, yet screaming. Every day the voices grow louder, A twisted choir of nightmares, Echoing through my skull like broken glass, Splintering my thoughts, Bleeding my sanity dry. I fight— God, I fight. But every swing feels weaker, Every breath like drowning, As the darkness pulls me deeper. I am losing this war, A battle waged in silence and screams. These visions, these monsters, They tear at my flesh, Clawing at the pieces I’ve tried to hold together. I’ve been alone so long, Defending a crumbling fortress, Walls made of fractured memories, My hands bloodied from patching the cracks That keep splitting wide. No one knows the horrors I see, The horrors I am. I can feel myself slipping, Fading like a wisp of smoke into oblivion, Lost to the void that whispers my name. But I keep trying— Every day, I try. Yet the weight is too much, And I am too tired to lift it anymore. How do you fight the shadows When they are your reflection? How do you hold on When the hands that reach for you are claws? I am lost, Falling through the black, Alone as always, And I fear there’s no ground left
