Where We're You?
In erstwhile days of futile search and longing pain, I wandered, lost, through life's labyrinthine terrain. Where were you, my love, when I was lost in the night? Hiding from sight, or veiled from my desperate light? Amidst the throngs of pretenders, who played with my heart, Feigning affection, with shallow, mercenary art. Where were you, my soulmate, when I was deceived? Concealed from my gaze, or silently relieved? In those ephemeral encounters, that left me unfulfilled, I sought solace in fleeting pleasures, that soon grew chilled. Where were you, my haven, when tempests raged within? A refuge from life's turbulence, and the whispers of doubt's din? When superficial connections, like autumn leaves, withered away, Leaving me barren, and winter's chill to stay. Where were you, my sunshine, when darkness reigned? Warming my soul, with radiance, and love's sweet refrain? But now, in your presence, my queries fade, As I behold your beauty, and the love we've made. In your eyes, like sapphires, shining bright and blue, I see a reflection, of the love I've sought anew. Your touch ignites a flame, that burns away the past, And in your arms, I find solace, that will forever last. Where were you, my love?
