Where the wild things are now
Where the wild things are was a book we read as kids Now as an adult, it's better known as the place where I live On every street and corner in the shadows and in the dark Monsters lurk in every crevice, nook and cranny even in children's parks with bags and scales in hidden pockets bearing tattoo masked track marks the monsters that I knew from books, as a kid don't look so scary now, even in the dark I use to be afraid to sleep without the blanket covering my feet Afraid that the monsters under my bed would get me while I was asleep And now I am just afraid of coming down that if I start to sober up my problems will become the ocean where I'll drown I wouldn't call myself a monster, just a creature that rarely sleeps it's hard to be afraid of monsters anymore after seeing the things that darkness keeps there's a certain peace and pleasure in the darkness I now use to escape a place where heroes make deliveries and wear masks instead of capes Once you take a walk over to the wild side where the wild things are you can't be afraid of any thing or man alive
