Where my heart lies
Where my heart lies. I wandered lost, unsure of where to be, My steps were still, my thoughts a restless sea; My heart lay quiet, hidden out of sight, Adrift between the dark and searching light. My heart lies restless in the in-between, Where something’s felt but never fully seen; Yet slowly, like the dawn begins to rise, It found its pull within your steady eyes. My heart lies drawn to fair caramel skin, That glows as though the sun still lives within; To soft, bright curls that fall with effortless grace, Like gentle shadows dancing round your face. My heart lies caught upon your lovely frame, A form so sure, yet soft in every way; Your nose, so finely shaped, so purely you, A quiet beauty simple, yet so true. My heart lies still upon your tender kiss, Your full, rose lips that speak a silent bliss; Each touch a pause where time forgets to move, A fleeting moment shaped entirely by you. And now I know, no doubt, no need to roam, No more a heart that drifts or stands alone My heart lies here, so certain, clear, and sure With you, my love…My heart lies with you.
