When you are gone

When you're gone,  My eyes search Through our past shared thoughts Of which I read fondly When we speak, I walk through your words As a hiker through the dunes  Only stopping in the shade Of our shared silence When your eyes light up As you look at me  My heart flutters  Unexpectedly Sleeping without you Feels like a crime Although faded I still imagine You there beside me Smiling.
