when the world's against us
In whispers of the dawn, where paths diverge and sway, Two hearts bound by a silent chord, in night's tender array. The world may cast its stormy gaze, and fate may draw its lines, But in the thinnest strand of hope, a silver thread entwines. Against the countless grains of doubt, that fall like heavy rain, I'd wager all the stars above, to feel her warmth again. For in the chaos of our lives, where dreams are tossed and spun, There lies a chance, so frail, so slight, I'd seize it as the one. The chorus of a thousand no's, may echo loud and clear, Yet, in the quiet of my soul, her voice is all I hear. So let the odds be scarce as stars, that dot the evening sky, I'd take the leap, through time and space, on love's wings I'd fly. For she is the beacon in the night, the lighthouse to my shore, The odds may be one in a million, but I could not ask for more. So I'll hold on to the slimmest chance, to the hope that love can bring, For a one in a million shot with her, is worth any everything.
