"When the Wind Whispers You"p¹
Your smile and voice, the wind brings near, Like springtime's warmth, they reappear. Your eyes, your lips in morning’s light— They shine and chase away the night. You walk the skies with steps so slow, A fairy lost where breezes blow. I hear your name float through the air, I turn to look you're never there. A fragile thing that's cracked and torn, Still breaks again when it’s reborn. They say the truth spills out with wine, When drunk hearts speak what they confine. But morning comes, the door swings wide, And all the buried truths collide. You vanish like a fleeting dream, I chase you through the winds that scream. With hope I reach, again, again But all my tries still end in vain. No one speaks our name aloud, Though once we bloomed, stood strong, and proud. Now we act like we were never, As if our bond had meant no tether. Oh, how I ache, I miss you so, I’d kiss your brow and beg you, “Don’t go.” Forget the gold, the royal show, The Caesar games, the worldly glow. Those dreams are fog, but you were real A mountain nymph I long to feel. There’s no "I'm sorry" once we part, The tears may fall, but dry the heart.
