WHEN THE LIGHT FADED-POEM
WHEN THE LIGHT FADED-POEM I used to wake up, and the sun felt amazing The air was warm. The world could heal Laughter liked in my chest Now it’s quiet there–no rest I used to dream in color, loud and clear Now everything fades, year by year People talk, but it's like rain Falling words that can't touch pain I miss the me who used to sing Who believed the world could give me wings Now im just tired, breaking slow Smiling so no one will know Sometimes, I think I've gone too far A ghost staring at a scar on my arm But there's a voice it's almost gone So I breathe again, though it hurts to say I can't have, not the days Maybe tomorrow the light will bend And I'll remember This isn't me at all.
