When Light Cuts Through
When Lights Cuts Through by Jack A.S. Dunce A restless day ending With questions lingering About the passing days Of walking in a daze -- In doubt of life's reasons From bees to the seasons. Lost in a line to Oz Where Iiving goes to doze To rest a weary mind; Alone and left behind To put order to chaos Stirred up by mad Eros. With head bowed down to earth Weighted by lack of mirth As everything turns gray For eyes filled with dismay -- Drowned in crocodile tears From walking, breathing fears. An errant ray of light Cut through the spreading blight, Unfamiliar yet known, Something felt in the bones That makes the heart lose beat And time seems to retreat. A whole lifetime with you In just a minute or two, Forever in a glance, From chance to our full dance. It's all wishful thinking, Yet I end up smiling. --🏵️-- ©️pgmr 12/23/2025 *dedicated to the light that sat across me. Thanks for the moment.
