When Lemons Give You Life.
Life dealt me lemons, but forgot the damn sugar. So my tongue met bitterness before it ever knew sweet. That citrus sting didn't quench anything, it just reminded me how thirsty survival can be. People love to use the old classic saying ‘When life gives you lemons, make lemonade.’ but what if you were never taught the recipe? What if I only have lemons but no sweetner? Some got sugar, real sugar, measured in spoonfuls of security and second chances. And some? Some of us only ever got the lemons. No instructions, no safety net, just acid, pulp, and the stubborn will to swallow and keep going. They say blessings come eventually. Maybe. But when you’ve lived off sour your whole damn life, even grace can taste suspicious. So if I pause at kindness, if sugar makes me cautious, just know it's not ungratefulness. It's muscle memory, from tasting bitterness for so long that sweetness feels foreign And healing burns on
