When I was 4

When I was four my mother read me books before bed, I did not understand why she wore makeup I thought she was pretty without it, I swear I would never wear any, when I was 4 I couldn't wait for my 7th birthday, when people would ask me my age I could hold up two hands, I thought that would be pretty cool, when I was 7 I was going on bike rides, I did not understand why the world was a scary place, I swore i would never like boys, when i was 7 i couldn't wait for my 10th birthday when people asked me my age i could hold up all my fingers, I would be double digits, I thought that was pretty cool, when I was 10 my friends and i would play pretend, i did not understand why the older kids would always be on their phones, the real world is never kas much fun as imagination is, I swear I would never be addicted to a screen, when I was ten I could not wait for my 13th birthday when people ask me my age I couldn't even hold up my hands, I would be a teenager I thought that would be pretty cool, I'm 12 now, I wear makeup, I'm always on my phone, I don't go on bike rides anymore I don't even own a bike anymore, I dare girls and now I can't tell where my future is headed I'm almost 14 old enough to dye my hair kiss girls
