when did we drift
When did the roads of friendship bend, And lead us where the silence grew? You were the one I ran to first— Now I don't even run into you. We shared our storms, we shared the sun, Laughed like the world could wait outside. But now we pass like strangers do, With not even a nod to hide. I used to think that friendships last, That they don’t need an end, a close. But maybe she was right that day— Even bonds like this can decompose. Was it someone who came between, Or did time just steal our thread? Or maybe, just maybe, Our friendship… was quietly left unsaid.
