When Dawn Drinks my Name
Night knows my true name and spits it back in red Writing now as the candlelight drips down fractured walls, like melting time What I once was is now no more, and I'm left with a loss of what was slowly bled A home no longer such, with fractured crimson glass and a cackle of the moon with each chyme My love I've lost with each second, as it persisted to live on As my skin has passed from life to death, and black veins thread my frame like brambles of thorned roses A sickening hunger claws at my throat, burning with a rage that gives no pleasure of dawn The pounding never ends, a constant thumping in the walls from a heart I know not imposes My long ever spanding existence is barren and bleak, reaped in suffering and numbness These letters of crimson I continue to lay, as the dawn approacheth and I bleed no more The morning of today, I wish for my death and my freedom for it to encompass I bade farewell to my only company, the Raven whom resteth upon my rafters floor As the snow befalls upon my black coffin I now leaveth as the sun hath come for my heart to soften
