when Autumn comes
The trees let go as colors fade, Soft reds and yellows gently laid. Once thick with leaves, they now stand bare, Letting go, with quiet care. Their branches open to the breeze, No longer weighed by summer’s leaves. Each leaf that falls, a whispered song, Of knowing when to move along. And as the trees release their hold, We feel the pull to shed the old. To drop what’s heavy, ease the weight, And find a slower, steadier state. In autumn’s calm, we learn to see A kind of peace in being free, Letting go with quiet grace, And finding strength in empty space.
