What's left behind
It's getting easier to breathe Each time you turn and walk away. The love I held begins to leave— Its light grows dimmer by the day. You begged for trust, for open arms, For understanding, gentle grace. I gave you all, ignored the harm, Still hoping love would find its place. But you let go — without a sound — And chased a heart that won’t hold yours. You tossed aside what we had found, And left me closing unseen doors. I loved you once — I can’t pretend. But now that love has lost its name. No tears remain, no heart to mend. I’m walking on — without the blame.
