What We Ate Was Our Bait ⁉️
I want to sleep, How could I under the cloudburst of shells? I want to dream so deep, How could I, when I dream the sound of church bells? I want to shout “stop,” So they would stop pulling the trigger, But it will flop, As their vengeance is even bigger. Kids run for their life as they burn, But every door of hope to shelter is closed. Wise leeches timelessly learn, Peace into ashes as science tampers and is forged. I can’t drink, as water is bleach, Not so far for thirst to reach. Paradise is now a smoldered cemetery, As the talons of nightmare have caught my memory. There is no nature, As apathy had to foster. Love dies as it ruptures, As greedy pollutants polluted the master. Truly, I say to you, power is not what we eat, As innocence is not what we should sell. So when danger comes, we shall not meet, Indeed, isn’t that what our gods did tell?
