What Was, Still Is
I lost her once, a fleeting spark, A bond that faded in the dark. Yet fate was kind, drew her near, She shines again, my heart’s sincere. The years have passed, but not her light, Her laughter warm, her soul so bright. No time could steal the way she speaks, The way she lifts me when I’m weak. She stays the same, yet more divine, As if the stars chose her to shine. No change could make my heart refrain, For all she was, she still remains. I hold her close, I breathe her in, A bond reborn, yet never dim. She is my past, my now, my new, A dream once lost, now lived anew.
