What they called us
They called us castaways our ashes scattered like dust, but why? our thoughts becomes blank but theirs became brighter. They called us useless while they thread upon us, my voice is but a whisper they took our strength and grinded it to dust. They called us vague but the truth is bleak, our promised joy is afar off yet we strive to reach it how long do they torment us?. They called us fools but we are not, our bravery collapsed like a deck of cards we are broken by what they call us. © Adiela Michael Osiah.
