what is this love
Love is a shadow, a whisper in the night, A fragile dream that shatters with the light. It’s the echo of a promise, broken and cold, A tale of warmth that’s left untold. Love is the poison that lingers on your lips, A ghostly touch, a cruel eclipse. It’s the silent scream, the tear-stained face, The haunting memory you can’t erase. Love is the pain that seeps into your soul, A bleeding heart, a gaping hole. It’s the betrayal that cuts so deep, A restless sorrow that denies you sleep. Love is the chill that runs down your spine, A bitter taste, a twisted line. It’s the empty nights, the endless cries, The fading light in your weary eyes. Love is the wound that never heals, A broken trust, the sorrow it reveals. It’s the shattered dreams, the endless fight, The cold embrace of a loveless night. In the cold embrace of love’s deceit, We find our hearts, bruised and incomplete. Yet still we search, in shadows and in pain, For the fleeting touch of love’s sweet refrain.
