What is hope?
It's just a ray Not a bright light It's just a gleam Not a bright sky I'm no fantasist Nor a helpless fool I'm no realist Nor a shallow pool It's said to be large Yet shallow A bright morning star Yet dim I'm no Einstein But the hope just heightens Only for it to drop At zero degrees I'm no believer Of life's just that way I'm sensitive Though I'm not a relative Shall I hope on? Shall I doze off? Shall I stand still? Do I stretch my hands? What is hope? Is it dope? I'll sit and hope It's not holes.
